500 classic Hot Rods on Show in New Zealand

500 classic hot rods and cars on display yesterday at Trentham Racecourse in Wellington New Zealand for the 11th Moonshine American Car Day.

Moonshine Rod and Custom Club president Danny Neilson said more than 5000 people came along to see the “Yank tanks”, which he says have an enduring appeal.

“I think it is a nostalgic trend. A lot of people who are into it are older people – in the 40 to 50 age group.

Buckets Blowers and Bombers Charity Car Show

1969 Chevrolet Camaro

The wings of a B-25 bomber will cast a shadow on an expected 200 cars this Saturday for the Buckets, Blowers & Bombers Charity Show, held at the Commemorative Air Force Aviation Museum at Falcon Field Airport in Mesa.

This is the first time the museum has hosted a car show. Cars can register online at hotrodplanet.com for $25, which includes two passes to the museum, a goodie bag and a dash plaque.

For kids and tiny car enthusiasts, there will be Hot Wheels racing competitions throughout the day
